This Weekend in Hillcat Sports

Friday will kick off an action packed weekend for sports on and off the Hill for RSU.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S SOCCER
  • The top eight teams in the conference advanced to the SAC Tournament.

The men's soccer team finished league play in a three-way tie for fourth place. With the tie breaker the Hillcats (11-5-2, 5-4-1 SAC) are seeded sixth and will travel to third seeded Oklahoma City University (9-5-2, 5-3-1 SAC) on Friday, Nov. 5. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

With a win over OCU on Friday, the Hillcat men would move on to play a semi-final against the winner of the OBU-St. Gregory's game on Monday, Nov. 8.

Last Meeting:

The Hillcats edged the Stars 1-0 in the regular season at OCU earning RSU their ninth straight victory.


WOMEN

With a fourth place finish in the conference, the Hillcat women (15-2-1, 8-2-1 SAC) open the SAC tournament hosting Southern Nazarene (9-8-1, 6-4-1 SAC) on Saturday, Nov 6 on the Soldier Field. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

The winner of the RSU-SNU women's game will take on the winner of the OCU-Lubbock Christian match on Monday, Nov. 8.

Last Meeting:

RSU defeated SNU on the road, 4-3 in the regular season. The Hillcats scored four consecutive goals in the opening half however; they allowed the Crimson Storm to get back in the game after intermission.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The RSU men's basketball team will have back-to-back game days this weekend. Friday will tip off their home season opener at the Expo Center against Dallas Christian College. Game time is 7 p.m. The Hillcats are back in action Saturday going traveling to Oral Roberts University (Exhibition). Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

MEN & WOMEN CROSS COUNTRY

RSU cross country will be competing in their first SAC tournament meet in Shawnee, Okla. Competition begins at 9:30 a.m. Finishing in the top two, will grant the Hillcats to the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash.
